INCLUSION FOCUS: Impactful Solutions Require Inclusive Conversations

Creating Economic Opportunity means ensuring that every person, in any community and in any economy can thrive. The APEC CEO Summit 2023 will focus on building opportunities and addressing challenges that impact workers, businesses, communities, and families, wherever they live and work in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Summit program will highlight the benefits of inclusion and diversity efforts. “As hosts of this year’s CEO Summit, the U.S. will shape the agenda and work toward solutions to create a more inclusive and resilient Asia-Pacific,” said Monica Hardy Whaley, President, National Center for APEC, which is hosting this year’s event.

High-level dialogues and intimate fireside chats featuring world leaders, business executives and thought leaders will focus on:

  • Economic growth for all
  • Opportunities for under-represented communities
  • SMEs as drivers of economic inclusion

The program will include keynote addresses from APEC leaders and CEOs, including Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., Executive Chairman of Visa and a co-chair of the APEC CEO Summit 2023, will also be among the speakers at the Summit addressing issues of inclusion and opportunity, notably equity and the future of digital finance.

“We believe that we will only achieve digital equity in the world when individuals and businesses have the opportunities, the skills and the trust to fully participate in the digital economy together,” he said.
