About Us

The United States government will serve as chair economy for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in 2023. In this capacity, it will set the themes and priorities for APEC and host numerous meetings for government officials in the United States. The meetings will focus on regional economic issues, including sustainability, digitalization, women’s economic empowerment, trade facilitation, energy security, food security, and health among others. Officials in attendance will range from working level experts to ministers and heads of state who will meet in the fall.

The National Center for APEC established the Private Sector Host Committee to leverage the U.S. chairmanship of APEC to:

  • serve as a platform to coordinate private sector support for the U.S. chairmanship of APEC.
  • advance U.S. private sector policy objectives through initiatives and events that create engagement opportunities with APEC officials.
  • highlight the importance of U.S. economic engagement in the Asia Pacific.
  • highlight contributions U.S. companies make to economic development and prosperity in the Asia Pacific.
